Writer's Block: All Broken Up
Jun. 1st, 2009 | 01:19 am
Copious amounts of alcohol and becoming a recluse are doing wonders. I hardly ever remember a face, name, or an event any more. I highly recommend isolation and alcoholism.

Mental gymnastics in my sleep

In my dream this morning, I invented a conundrum that was too difficult for my dream-self to solve. It was a reference to a particular comedy by Shakespeare in which one had to twist a particular word, translate it into Norwegian, then twist it again to get a chuckle.
In my dream, I scratched my head, until Master Hughes noticed that there was a solution printed upside down on the bottom of the page. He read it, and I felt so stupid for being so obtuse.
So, my brain is capable of recalling a play I have read only once many years ago, even down to the reference, twisting and turning words like they're going out of fashion, then translate it to make a funny. Then, my brain forgets all this activity, but in a dream prints the answer on a non-existent piece of paper which is read out for me by my son to make me feel dumb.
Or, more likely, it fakes all of the above.
Either way, I hate my brain for making me feel dumb. And now, of course, I can't recall the detail of the conundrum. My brain, it seems, hates me, too.

And I quote from the lyrics:
What?
The human dream
Doesn't mean shit to a tree
What?

Writer's Block: Take Your Chances
Mar. 22nd, 2009 | 08:06 pm
No one deserves a second chance, but along come second chances anyway. Breathe, sigh with relief, and take advantage of a second chance, if you dare.

Since I have no real life, the answer is yes. Mind you, I would prefer not to behave in real life. That would be fun!

It's not bad. It even managed to pronounce some of Carroll's loony-words quite well.
